Who is behind R&M Baits?
R&M Baits is based in Windigsteig in the Waidhofen an der Thaya district. The Waldviertel is pond country – carp have a long tradition here. The boilies are made in small batches and only rolled once you’ve ordered. That’s why delivery can take a little longer than for stock items.
For you, that means fresh bait instead of stock that has sat on a shelf for months. You can collect directly on site and pay cash on collection. Contact details and ways to order are on the manufacturer’s website.
The R&M Baits boilie range
A boilie is a round, hard-boiled carp bait made from flours, protein sources, eggs and flavours. It stays on the hair for a long time, and small nuisance fish can hardly pick it apart. R&M Baits offers its main flavours in three round sizes and two dumbbell shapes:
| Flavour | Round | Dumbbell | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pure Gold | 17, 22, 26 mm | 17 × 14 and 22 × 17 mm | main flavour |
| Bloody Sea | 17, 22, 26 mm | 17 × 14 and 22 × 17 mm | main flavour |
| B.B. Big Banana | 17, 22, 26 mm | 17 × 14 and 22 × 17 mm | main flavour |
| Firebird | 17, 22, 26 mm | 17 × 14 and 22 × 17 mm | main flavour |
| Milky Ball | 17, 22, 26 mm | 17 × 14 and 22 × 17 mm | enzyme boilie |
| Squid Liver Meat | 17, 22, 26 mm | 17 × 14 and 22 × 17 mm | enzyme boilie |
Which boilie size should you use?
17 mm suits smaller waters, spring and autumn, when you want lots of bites. 22 mm is the all-rounder for most lakes. Go for 26 mm when bream, tench or crayfish are eating your small baits and you’re targeting big fish. Dumbbells (barbell-shaped) don’t roll away on a slope and look different to the carp than round baits. For an overview of types and uses, see the guide boilies: types, sizes and uses in carp fishing.
Enzyme boilies: Milky Ball and Squid Liver Meat
An enzyme boilie contains ingredients that have been pre-digested or broken down by enzymes. The carp can use the nutrients faster, and more attractants leak off into the water. That makes enzyme boilies interesting for longer baiting campaigns and for colder water, when the carp’s metabolism slows down.

R&M Baits makes two enzyme flavours: Milky Ball and Squid Liver Meat, both in all round sizes and as dumbbells. How enzyme boilies work and when they’re worth it is explained in the guide enzyme boilies for carp: how they work and when to use them.
Pop-ups and dumbbells as hookbaits
A pop-up is a buoyant boilie. It sits above the bottom – over weed, leaves or soft silt – and so stays visible to the carp. R&M Baits offers pop-ups in Pure Gold and Bloody Sea – round in 14 and 18 mm and as a dumbbell in 10 × 14 mm.
A proven trick: fish your pop-up and your freebies in the same flavour. The hookbait stands out but still matches the taste of the baited spot. More on this in the guide pop-up boilies: rigs, colours and when to use them.
Freebies and pellets: Sweet, Fish and Krill
For baiting up, R&M Baits offers freebie boilies in Sweet and Fish, each in 17 and 22 mm and in 2.5 kg bags. Freebies are made for quantity: you build up a baited spot without having to use your hookbait boilies every time. How much bait makes sense and when is covered under freebies: how to bait up properly for carp.

Pellets Sweet and Pellets Krill come in 6 and 10 mm, also in 2.5 kg bags. Pellets break down faster than boilies and release attractants quickly. Combined with boilies, you get a baited spot that pulls fish straight away and still lasts. More on sizes and types in the guide carp pellets: types, sizes and baiting up.
How to order from R&M Baits

R&M Baits has no online shop. You send your order by email or WhatsApp, or give them a call – according to the website, the team can be reached from early evening. The boilies are then rolled, packed and shipped or delivered. You can also collect in Windigsteig, in which case you pay cash.
If you need larger amounts for a session, allow some lead time. Freshly rolled boilies take time – but in return you don’t get bait that has been sitting in a warehouse for months.
Compare boilies at Carp Austria
R&M Baits is currently not exhibiting at Carp Austria. You can still compare boilies, pop-ups and pellets there – from more than 100 brands in one place.
You don’t buy boilies from a photo. At Carp Austria, Austria’s biggest carp and fishing show in Wiener Neustadt, you can smell them, compare them and have the bait makers explain what works when. On top of that, there are show prices you won’t find online.
