❓ What makes Catfanatika Fishing Camp on the Po special?
Catfanatika is a family-run fishing camp near Cremona that combines catfish and carp fishing with modern boats, personal support and camp facilities. It isn’t just for experienced Po anglers: guests fishing Italy’s big river for the first time also get help with planning, boats and the water. Active vertical-fishing guiding rounds off the offer.
Catfanatika Fishing Camp – personal, not anonymous
The people behind Catfanatika fish themselves – and they deliberately make personal contact with their guests part of the camp concept.

The camp is run by brothers Mathias and Jens Suppan, both team anglers for Mad Cat Germany, together with Mario Carle, who looks after organisation, bookings, scheduling and many other tasks around the camp.
Catfanatika deliberately doesn’t want to be an anonymous fishing provider. Personal contact, straightforward support and a family atmosphere are as much part of the concept as the boats, the gear and the fishing itself.
This approach is especially useful if you don’t know the Po yet. The river is vast, changes with water level and current, and calls for different decisions than a small, manageable lake.
Catfish & carp fishing on the Po – two strong sides of the river
Main channel, calmer areas, sandbanks and changing currents mean the fishing on the Po near Cremona can change all the time.

At Catfanatika, catfish and carp take centre stage. For catfish, current, fish movement and the right areas of the river play a big part. The Po also gives carp anglers different options, especially in calmer areas and where faster and slower water meet.
The river’s fish stock also includes zander, barbel, asp and black bass. That can make the Po interesting for groups where not everyone wants to target the same species.
XXL boats, fish finder & equipment for long sessions on the Po
On a big river, the boat is a key part of the fishing – Catfanatika offers different options, from a compact inflatable to a large motorboat.

The current K-MAXXI-XXL measures around 5.70 × 2.10 metres and comes with a 40 hp Yamaha engine. A custom-built sleeping area with mattress is already fitted, which makes longer sessions on the boat easier.
As a more compact alternative, there’s an inflatable boat of about 3.20 metres with a 9.9 hp Yamaha outboard and fish finder. That way you pick the right boat size for your fishing style and plans.
If you’d rather bring as little of your own gear as possible, you can also go for an all-inclusive package. It currently includes, among other things, the K-MAXXI-XXL, a boat tent, six ready-to-fish rods, tackle boxes, a portable power station and a small electric cool box.
Active vertical-fishing guiding on the Po
Catfanatika offers active vertical-fishing guiding on the Po – worth a look if you want to fish the river in a targeted way with the team’s support.
Active vertical-fishing guiding adds a guided style of fishing to the camp and the boats. For first-timers on the Po in particular, it’s a chance to get to know different areas of the river, boat handling and tactics with someone experienced at your side.
Experienced anglers can use the guiding too, if they want to learn other techniques or new areas of the river. Details on timings and how the trips run can be arranged directly with Catfanatika.
