The bite on your phone. The catch in your digital log.
Vampire Bite Alarm combines electronic bite alarms, a fishing app and the Magic Ball for analysing your catch photos. Your smartphone becomes the control centre: it reports bites, adjusts settings and records your catches. At Carp Austria, you can get to know Vampire – a great stop if you want to find out what digital technology can do on your swim.
- Bite alarm with app: receive alerts on your smartphone and change settings from your phone.
- Solar support and USB-C: two ways to keep the battery charged.
- Digital catch log: bring catch photos, weather data and personal statistics together.
- Magic Ball: estimate fish length and weight from a photo – even without a Vampire bite alarm.
A run is over in seconds. The catch photo stays. Vampire links both with information you can draw on next session – from how the bite developed to the conditions when you caught the fish.

What Makes Vampire Bite Alarm Different?
With Vampire, bite indication and catch documentation work hand in hand. The bite alarm delivers alerts and session data, the app handles control and recording, and the Magic Ball adds image analysis. You can start with the app and the Magic Ball and keep using your existing bite alarms. If you also use the Vampire bite alarm, what happens at the rod becomes part of the picture too.
Vampire Bite Alarm: Solar, Rod Sensor and Light on the Rod Pod
Two solar panels support charging, and the bite alarm also has a USB-C port. According to the manufacturer, the 1000 mAh battery lasts around seven days without sunlight. The rod sensor starts a timer as soon as you place the rod. That way you can see how long your bait has been out. If the rod is lifted, your phone alerts you immediately – a handy theft protection. The angled light illuminates the area in front of the rod without dazzling you.
You can also look back at the bite itself: line tracking shows how many centimetres the fish has taken, and bite replay plays the bite back. Short twitches and longer runs become visible again after the session.
Peace and quiet while setting up: at the press of a button, the system can be muted for 60 seconds. So it doesn’t beep at every line movement while you’re lining up the rod. According to the manufacturer, false bite filtering is designed to reduce false alerts caused by small line movements, for example in wind or current.

Vampire App: Receive Bites, Record Catches
Your smartphone becomes the receiver – you don’t need a separate receiver unit. You set the LED colour, alarm tone and other settings via the Vampire app. Up to four phones can be connected at the same time – handy when you’re fishing with friends. The app is available for iOS and Android.
Your catch photos turn into a digital catch log with details such as time, weather, air pressure and location. Personal statistics help you compare your documented sessions later: at what times did the fish come, and in which conditions were you successful? That way, the circumstances of the catch are kept alongside the photo.
Want your friends to follow your session? Fishing trips can be shared via a link. That way you can pass on your documented catches without sending every catch photo separately.
About range: the manufacturer quotes around 100 metres of Bluetooth connection with a clear line of sight. To forward alerts via the internet, a phone has to stay within range of the bite alarm. So the internet function doesn’t extend the device’s Bluetooth connection.
Magic Ball: What Does Your Catch Photo Reveal About the Fish?
The small ball gives the app a known size in the photo. From this, the image analysis calculates estimates for the fish’s length and weight. The manufacturer lists the product as Magic Ball Pro. It works with the Vampire app without you having to switch your bite alarm system.

For a usable photo, the ball and the fish should be in the same plane as far as possible; the whole fish should be shown side-on. A ball close to the camera and a fish further back would distort the proportions. According to the manufacturer, accuracy is usually around 10% for length and 20% for weight. The results remain estimates and don’t replace exact measuring or weighing.

Vampire at Carp Austria: From Product Photo to a Chat at the Stand
Linking bite alarm, phone and catch photo raises questions that go beyond a single product image. Bring your smartphone and an existing catch photo to Vampire. That gives you something concrete to talk about: which functions can you use with your current gear? How do you set up the connection? And what matters when taking a photo with the Magic Ball?
Whether you want to digitise your catch log first or add the bite alarm as well: start at the stand with exactly that plan. That turns a general walk around the show into a conversation about your next step on the water. You’ll find Vampire in Hall 2 – the Carp Austria floor plan shows you exactly where. You’ll find all other brands in the exhibitor directory.
Who Is Vampire For?
For carp anglers who want bite alerts on their smartphone, for tech fans who enjoy individual settings and for anglers who want to keep more than just a single catch photo. Particularly handy: you don’t need a Vampire bite alarm to get started with the app and the Magic Ball. Plan a visit to Vampire in Hall 2 and bring your questions about the digital session.
