Avid Carp – Carp Tackle for Almost Your Entire Swim
Avid Carp is one of those brands that lets you put together almost your entire swim from a single product range: bite alarms, rods, reels, bedchairs, chairs, bivvys, landing nets, rod pods, luggage, carp care and terminal tackle are all part of the line-up. The Revolve carp rods get their own model overview below; at the same time, the article covers the entire Avid range.
At Carp Austria you get a broad look at the brand. A particularly large sales area is dedicated to the attractively priced Revolve series. Avid deliberately aims this range at newcomers and budget-conscious carp anglers – but also at experienced anglers looking for functional tackle for a second setup, weekend sessions or fishing trips.
AVID CARP is presented to you at Carp Austria by FALLE Fischertreff.
- Bite alarms: VTX & VTX+
- Bedchairs & chairs: attractively priced Revolve models
- Bivvys & shelters: Revolve brollies, Screen Houses and InflataHouse
- Swim & fish care: rod pods, landing nets and carp care
- Rods, reels & accessories: several series for different applications and budgets
The big show advantage: many products are far easier to judge in person than on a screen. Lie on the bedchairs, sit in the chairs, get to know the bite alarms and work out with the Avid team which combination really suits your sessions.
Avid Carp Revolve Carp Rods – Models at a Glance
The Avid Carp Revolve carp rods are aimed at anglers looking for functional rods on a manageable budget. The classic Revolve range includes short 10 ft rods as well as 12 ft and 13 ft models. There is also the compact Revolve R with a retractable handle.
| Model | Length | Test curve | Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revolve | 10 ft · approx. 3.05 m | 3.0 lb | Short rod for compact swims and fishing from a boat |
| Revolve | 10 ft · approx. 3.05 m | 3.5 lb | Short version with a higher test curve |
| Revolve | 12 ft · approx. 3.66 m | 3.0 lb | Classic length for versatile carp fishing from the bank |
| Revolve | 12 ft · approx. 3.66 m | 3.5 lb | Bank model with a higher test curve |
| Revolve | 13 ft · approx. 3.96 m | 3.5 lb | Longer model for anglers who prefer more rod length |
| Revolve R | 10 ft · approx. 3.05 m | 3.0 lb | Retractable handle for a compact transport length |
| Revolve R | 10 ft · approx. 3.05 m | 3.5 lb | Compact travel version with a higher test curve |
The test curve describes the rod’s loading characteristics and is not a casting weight. Which length and test curve suit you depends on your swim, rig, casting style and whether you fish from the bank or a boat. Pick up the models at the stand and get advice on the right rod and reel combination.
Revolve R or classic Revolve? The Revolve R is a good choice if packed length and transport matter most. Avid also offers a Revolve Spod/Marker for baiting up and feature finding; it is a working rod and should be considered separately from the fishing rods compared here. FALLE Fischertreff can tell you which versions are available at the show.
You can find more brands in our fishing rod overview. The manufacturer information on Revolve and Revolve R complements the model comparison.
What Makes Avid Carp Special?
Avid Carp covers many areas of modern carp fishing within one brand. The range extends from bite alarms, rods, reels and bankware to sleep systems, chairs, shelters, landing nets, fish care and terminal tackle.
At the same time, there are different price and specification levels. Revolve offers a lot of function at a deliberately attractive price, while series such as Benchmark Ultra or EXO focus more on comfort, features and more demanding sessions.
👉 That’s why at Carp Austria you can get to know Avid Carp not just as a single product series, but as a complete tackle brand – with a particularly large selection from the Revolve range.
Avid Carp Series & Product Ranges at a Glance
For a quick overview, the most important current Avid product ranges can be grouped as follows:
- Revolve: broad value-for-money series covering bedchairs, sleep systems, chairs, bivvys, brollies, Screen Houses, rod pods, landing nets, carp care, reels, rods and other accessories
- Benchmark & Benchmark Ultra: bedchairs, sleep systems and chairs with a stronger focus on comfort – including memory foam and LevelTech technology
- EXO & EXO+: quick-erect bivvys and extensions for longer sessions
- EXO+ RV & EXO 2 RV: more attractively priced EXO shelters for 1.5 and 2 people
- VTX & VTX+: electronic Avid bite alarms with receivers and extensive features
- Lok Down & Pods: bank sticks, buzz bars, rod pods and solutions for different swims
- Outline: terminal tackle, hooklink and rig components for discreet presentation
- Compound, RVS, Stormshield & A-Spec: luggage and storage solutions for tackle and gear
- PRO-Tect, Captive & Carp Care: landing nets, unhooking mats, weigh slings and accessories for safe fish handling
- Rods & reels: Revolve and Revolve R carp rods plus a range of reel models
For show visitors, this breadth is particularly interesting: you can choose between different price, comfort and specification levels within one brand instead of piecing together every product group from different manufacturers.
Revolve in the Sales Spotlight – Lots of Avid Tackle for Your Budget
At Carp Austria, Avid Carp’s main sales focus is on Revolve. The series is much bigger than just a bedchair and a chair and now extends across many areas of the swim.
- Sleeping: beds, complete sleep systems, sleeping bags and pillows
- Seating: Low Chair, Armchair and X Armchair
- Weather protection: NG bivvys, day-session and overnight brollies as well as Screen House and Screen House Compact
- Rod set-up: Multi Pod, Super Low Pod and other bankware
- Fish care: Carp Cradle, Weigh Sling, Floatation Sling and Weigh Tripod
- Landing: 42-inch carp landing nets with 6 ft or 8 ft handles
- Reels & rods: models for different distances and applications
Avid itself clearly positions this series around value for money. That makes it particularly interesting if you need a lot of gear but don’t want to go for the top specification in every product area.
This is a real advantage at the show: you can look at several components side by side and build your setup piece by piece – with show prices instead of just product photos in an online shop.
Avid Carp VTX & VTX+ Bite Alarms
The Avid bite alarms are also at Carp Austria. With the VTX and VTX+, Avid offers two electronic systems with different levels of specification.
The VTX is particularly interesting: it combines numerous features with strong value for money.
- IQ-Sense & bi-directional bite detection: detects line movement in both directions
- 8 sensitivity settings: to adapt to different conditions on the bank
- Twin LEDs: green, blue, red or yellow plus night light function
- VTX EPS receiver: wireless range of up to 150 m and pairing of multiple bite alarms
- SafeGuard: anti-theft alert function
- Piezo speaker: clear, powerful tone
- Practical details: soft-touch controls, rod-friendly ears and clip-on hard case
If you want even more settings, the VTX+ is the higher-spec version. It features six LED colours, three brightness levels, a wireless range of up to 250 m and an IPX6-rated housing.
Carp Bedchairs & Carp Chairs – Revolve Meets Benchmark
Bedchairs and chairs show particularly well how Avid covers different price and comfort classes within one brand.
Revolve offers deliberately attractive value for money while still adopting key Avid design ideas.
The bedchairs are available both as individual beds and as complete sleep systems. Standard and X differ mainly in lying area, height, weight and number of legs.
| Standard | X | |
|---|---|---|
| Legs | 6 | 8 |
| Dimensions | 200 × 80 cm | 210 × 90 cm |
| Height | 35–42 cm | 40–47 cm |
| Weight (bed) | 9.8 kg | 12.8 kg |
| Weight (system) | 12.5 kg | 15.8 kg |
The dimensions match the familiar Benchmark sizes. Rocksteady legs, a low-profile frame and a strap-and-buckle system are among the key features of the more budget-friendly bedchairs.
The chairs range from the Low Chair, weighing only around 2.75 kg, to the Armchair and X Armchair. This is exactly where the show pays off: seat height, width and backrest are much easier to judge by sitting in them than from a product photo.
Bivvys & Shelters – Brollies, Screen Houses & InflataHouse
Avid Carp also covers different session types when it comes to weather protection. For budget-conscious anglers, the selection ranges from day-session and overnight brollies to NG bivvys and larger Screen House solutions.
For even more space, Avid also offers the Screen House XT and InflataHouse solutions. The range therefore runs from quick protection for short sessions to a large camp for several days.
Carp Landing Nets, Rod Pods & Carp Care – More Than Just Comfort Tackle
Avid Carp doesn’t stop at bite alarms and bivvys. Landing, fish care and rod set-up are also firmly part of the range.
The carp landing nets include 42-inch models with 6 ft or 8 ft handles. The 8 ft version comes in two pieces for extra reach, while the 6 ft version is more compact.
For rod set-up, the budget-oriented range includes the Multi Pod and Super Low Pod, among others. Avid also offers further rod pods, buzz bars, bank sticks and Lok Down solutions for different banks and rod positions.
The fish care selection is extensive too: carp cradles and unhooking mats, weigh slings, floatation slings, weigh tripods and digital scales cover every step from safely resting the fish to weighing it.
Avid Carp Reels – EX-Cast, Revolve & Matching Combinations
Avid Carp also covers different waters and fishing styles with its carp reels. The EX-Cast series is particularly interesting: matt black reels with a clear value-for-money focus, available in three different sizes.
This means the range of use extends from carp fishing on smaller waters to targeted long-range casting on large, open waters. Depending on the size, you can choose the reel to match your rod length, required line capacity and desired casting distance.
Revolve reels and other Avid models are also part of the range. If you are looking for an Avid Carp reel, you can pick up different models and sizes at Carp Austria and better judge which combination suits your own rods and your water.
You can find the Revolve carp rods and Revolve R models in the model overview above. Pair the rod with a suitable reel; line capacity, weight and application should match your water and your fishing.
