The Iglice stilt houses are located in Kistormás in Tolna County, Hungary. The site has two lakes: an upper fishpond of around 41 hectares and the lower 19-hectare fishing lake, where the stilt houses stand.
In total there are 31 stilt houses right on the water. They are reached from the bank via short walkways. According to the operator, the houses are around 50 metres apart.
For a multi-day fishing holiday in Hungary, that is a real plus: you don’t have to commute between your accommodation and the water every day. Rods, food and personal kit stay right where you sleep.
Kistormás, Hungary – Location & Getting to the Iglice Stilt Houses
Iglice is in Tolna County in southern Hungary – quiet and green, but easy to reach via the M6.
The official address is 7068 Kistormás, Dózsa György utca 16, Hungary. According to the operator, Szekszárd and Paks are each about half an hour away; from Budapest the drive takes around 1.5 hours.
That makes Iglice suitable not only for a longer carp holiday, but also for anglers from Austria who are specifically looking for a fishing lake in Hungary with accommodation right on the water.
Lakeside Fishing Cabin with Private Jetty – Your Own Fishing Area
Your swim starts right in front of your accommodation: every Iglice stilt house has its own 35 m² jetty.
Along with the 35 m² private jetty, each stilt house comes with a designated fishing area around 50 metres wide, stretching towards the opposite bank.
Only the guests of that house may fish within this area. There are no swims on the opposite side of the lake, so you don’t share your fishing area with anglers sitting directly across from you.
A maximum of four people may stay in one house. Together they can fish with a total of six rods. During your booked stay, you can fish both day and night.

The Iglice stilt houses are equipped for stays of several days. Alongside the living and dining area, every house has its own kitchen.
Equipment includes a fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, bean-to-cup coffee machine and induction hob, among other things. Cookware, cutlery, plates, glasses and other basic kitchen utensils are also provided.
That is especially practical on a longer carp session: food and drinks stay right at your swim, and meals can be prepared in the house.
Four Beds – Fishing Holidays with Friends or Family
With four single beds, the stilt houses are also a good fit for shared fishing trips, friends and small groups.
Each stilt house sleeps a maximum of four people. The beds are four single beds arranged as two bunk beds.

Iglice is not a typical day-ticket lake: anyone who fishes there books their stilt house right on the water at the same time.
The fishing lake can only be used in combination with a house booking. Separate day tickets are not available.
This keeps the water focused on the guests of the 31 stilt houses. Accommodation, jetty and fishing area form a single unit for the duration of your stay.

Night Fishing, Bait Boats & Catch and Release – Key Fishery Rules
On a fishing holiday abroad, the rules are just as much part of your preparation as rods, baits and tackle.
At Iglice you may fish day and night during your booked stay. Fishing is only allowed from your own jetty.
- Maximum of four people: six rods in total are allowed per house.
- Bait boat: allowed; normal boats may not be used.
- Catch & release: all fish caught must be returned.
- Carp care: a large landing net, a carp cradle and wound antiseptic are compulsory.
- Mainline: monofilament mainline only, with a minimum diameter of 0.25 mm; braided mainline is not allowed.
- Leadcore: may not be used, according to the current Iglice fishery rules.
Anglers also need a state fishing licence valid for the year in question or a 90-day tourist fishing licence. Guests from abroad must meet this requirement too.
